Chinese President Xi Jinping has held 18 meetings with US presidents since he became China’s leader in 2013. This includes the state visit by US President Donald Trump to Beijing on May 13. Xi previously held talks with former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, as well as with Trump during the US leader’s first term.

Extensive Meetings with Russian President

In contrast, Xi Jinping has had more than 40 physical meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the same period. This significantly higher number of interactions, compared to those with US presidents, underscores the close relationship between China and Russia.
