Europe Pursues Manufacturing-Based AI Innovation, Japan Adopts AI for Dementia Care
Meanwhile, Europe is seeking a different path in the AI race from the U.S. and China. Germany has launched an 'Artificial Intelligence Innovation Park' with billions of euros in investment, focusing on manufacturing-based AI fields such as industrial AI, smart manufacturing, autonomous driving, smart logistics, and AI ethics and security. The plan is to quadruple AI computing power by 2030 compared to 2025, and over 100 companies have already expressed interest. Europe aims to resolve internal fragmentation and establish a new pole by securing leadership in 'industrial AI institutional standards.'
In Japan, Dai-hong Kikaku and Bobath Memorial Hospital have launched the 'A.I.ways Call' campaign, an AI-powered voice conversation program based on generative AI. This program aims to alleviate anxiety in early dementia patients and reduce the burden on family caregivers. The app helps dementia patients find stability by responding to their repetitive questions with family members' voices.
