Woman Dies from Stabbing in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture
According to police, at around 9:00 AM on May 16, Naomi Tanaka, 53, was found collapsed in the garden of her home in Kawashimashinmachi, Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, with stab wounds. Tanaka had multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and chest, believed to have been inflicted by a bladed weapon. She was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police to Question Victim's Brother-in-Law
The victim's husband reported witnessing his wife and his younger brother arguing just before the incident. A kitchen knife, believed to be the weapon, was found at the crime scene. The husband's younger brother also sustained self-inflicted injuries from a bladed object. Police plan to question the brother-in-law about the circumstances of the incident once he recovers and are investigating the case as a homicide.
