Robbery-Murder Case: 20s Woman Accomplice Further Secured
The robbery-murder case in Kamimokawa-machi, Tochigi Prefecture, has seen rapid developments four days after its occurrence. Police arrested a 28-year-old man, believed to be an instigator, at Haneda Airport's international terminal on May 17 as he attempted to depart the country. The man was identified as a resident of Yokohama City. Following further investigation, a 25-year-old woman suspected of being an accomplice in the case has also been taken into custody.
Details of the Incident and Suspect Information
The incident began on May 14 morning when Ms. Eiko Toyama (69) was found stabbed to death at her residence in Kamimokawa-machi. Police initially suspected that multiple individuals had broken in with the intent of robbery. Prior to these arrests, the police had already apprehended four 16-year-old boys as the alleged perpetrators of the robbery and murder. It is believed that one of the boys drove the getaway car without a license.
Possibility of 'Tokuryu' Anonymous Mobile Crime Group Raised
Crime journalist Yukio Ishihara noted the arrested instigator's attempt to flee abroad, suggesting the possibility of an anonymous mobile crime group, known as 'Tokuryu', behind the incident providing financial support. Ishihara analyzed that the instigator's attempt to escape overseas would require substantial funds, indicating the potential involvement of a higher-level organization like Tokuryu. Police are expanding their investigation into the individual who masterminded the crime and additional instigators, considering this possibility.
