Trillanes Visits Senate with Alleged ICC Arrest Warrant
On Monday (May 11), former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrived at the Senate carrying what he claimed was an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC). He attempted to serve this warrant to Senator Bato Dela Rosa. Trillanes stated that Dela Rosa himself had previously requested to be present when such a warrant was served to him.
Dela Rosa Alleges Harassment and Retaliates
During the Senate plenary session, Senator Dela Rosa accused the former senator, along with several operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), of harassing him before he entered the Senate. He strongly rebuked these actions, viewing them as undue pressure. This incident further escalated tensions within the Philippine political sphere.
