India to Host BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting
BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be Held in New Delhi
India is preparing to host the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi this week. While Russia has confirmed its participation, the composition of the delegations from China and Iran remains unconfirmed. Reports suggest that the Iranian Foreign Minister might attend, though a deputy foreign minister could also represent the country depending on the situation in West Asia.
Focus on West Asia Conflict and Joint Statement
The primary focus of the meeting will be to form a consensus on the West Asia conflict. This is particularly significant as both the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iran, who are involved in the conflict, are member countries of BRICS. India is expected to issue a chair statement, and the meeting is seen as an opportunity for BRICS nations to collectively assert their global influence. India will also host the BRICS Summit in September.
