Trump Rejects Iran's Ceasefire Proposal
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on May 11 (local time) that he rejected Iran's response to the American proposal for ending the Middle East war, labeling it "totally unacceptable." Iran had previously indicated that it conveyed its position on the latest ceasefire proposal to the U.S. via intermediary Pakistan. He did not, however, specify the contents of Iran's response.
Trump Accuses Iran of 'Playing Tricks' Amid Hardline Stance
President Trump accused Iran of "playing games" and mocking the U.S. for decades, asserting that this behavior would soon cease. He claimed Iran had "played the U.S. and the World for 47 years" and warned that "they will not be laughing anymore." Meanwhile, according to Iranian state television, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who had not appeared publicly since the war began, met with military operational commanders and issued "decisive new directives regarding the continuation of operations and strong confrontation with the enemy." Iran's goal is reportedly to end the war on all fronts and ensure shipping safety.
