According to the Japan Coast Guard and police, three individuals were carried away by the water. One person managed to return to shore independently, but two men are potentially still adrift at sea, prompting a full-scale search operation.
Coast Guard Deploys Patrol Vessels for Search
The Japan Coast Guard is currently deploying patrol vessels and other resources to search for the two missing men. The accident occurred in a region of Ibaraki Prefecture that was under a high wave warning until 10:00 AM on the day of the incident. It is believed that the accident took place during a tidal flat activity, and local authorities are investigating the exact circumstances.
