MP Cruise Boat Tragedy: Survivor Claims No Life Jackets Provided
Cruise Boat Capsizes: Survivor Account
A survivor of the tragic cruise boat capsizing in Madhya Pradesh's Bargi Dam, Pradeep Kumar, reported that life jackets were not adequately provided on board. He emphasized that passengers should have been given life jackets when going into the water, but they were neither readily accessible nor quickly retrieved. Approximately 50 to 60 passengers are believed to have been on the boat at the time of the incident.
Cause of Accident and Rescue Efforts
Pradeep Kumar stated that the boat began taking on water due to sudden strong waves, leading to the breaking of its windows and subsequent capsizing. He recounted that he and a few other passengers had to retrieve life jackets from inside the boat and distribute them to others. Only a driver and an assistant were on duty, and they did not provide life jackets. Kumar's 4-year-old son and wife are currently missing as rescue operations continue.
