US-Iran Talks Stalemate, Both Sides Warn of War Preparedness
US-Iran Ceasefire Talks Stall Amid War Warnings
With the US and Iran ceasefire deadline approaching and negotiations deadlocked, both sides have issued warnings that they are prepared for war. The White House stated that Vice President Kamala Harris is ready to fly back to Islamabad, Pakistan, for a second round of US-Iran talks. However, the Iranian government refused to confirm its participation, accusing the US of violating the ceasefire by blockading Iranian ports and seizing vessels.
Iran's Firm Stance and US Warning
Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, criticized US President Donald Trump on X, stating that Trump is attempting to turn the negotiating table into a "surrender table" or find a pretext for renewed war through blockades and ceasefire violations. Qalibaf emphasized that Iran would not accept negotiations under threat and has been preparing new cards on the battlefield for the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard warned that any unauthorized vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz would be targeted. President Trump told American Public Radio that "lots of bombs start going off" once the ceasefire agreement expires, stressing that Iran should participate in the talks.
