Researchers at five major academic medical centers, including Mass General Brigham and Emory Healthcare, investigated the return on investment (ROI) of AI scribes. Findings revealed modest reductions in electronic health record (EHR) and documentation time. Furthermore, the adoption of AI scribes was associated with a 1.7% increase in weekly visit volume, translating to an estimated additional $167 in monthly evaluation/management visit revenue per clinician.
