Vice Ganda Distributes 200,000 Pesos to Jeepney Drivers
Philippine celebrity Vice Ganda, host of the popular variety show 'It's Showtime,' recently made a significant donation to jeepney drivers grappling with financial difficulties caused by rising fuel prices. The spontaneous act of generosity came after Ricky, a jeepney driver participating in the show, shared his struggles. Vice Ganda distributed a total of 200,000 pesos, with Ricky and all other participating jeepney drivers each receiving 5,000 pesos. Vice Ganda encouraged them, saying, "Keep fighting, don't give up."
Jeepney Driver Ricky's Struggle Amidst Fuel Price Hike
Ricky, a jeepney driver on the Lagro-Almar route, revealed that his daily fuel cost has soared from 350 pesos to 1,000 pesos. He earns only 200 pesos per day, leaving him with little to no profit after covering fuel expenses, plunging his family into financial distress. Despite the hardships, Ricky supports two children who, understanding his plight, do not complain, which he finds even more heartbreaking. He prays every night for an end to the fuel price crisis and vows to continue working hard for his family's survival.
