Honda to Launch Sporty Compact EV 'Super-ONE' in May
Honda Announces Launch of Sporty Compact EV 'Super-ONE'
Honda has announced that it will launch its sporty compact electric vehicle (EV), the 'Super-ONE,' in May. This model is based on Honda's kei-car EV and is designed to allow drivers to experience increased motor output and gear shift sensations depending on driving conditions. Notably, despite the inherent quietness of EVs, the 'Super-ONE' features in-car speakers co-developed with an audio equipment manufacturer to reproduce engine sounds and vibrations during gear shifts.
Differentiation Strategy and International Market Expansion
Although Honda has halted EV development in North America due to changes in market conditions, it continues its development efforts in Japan. By introducing the 'Super-ONE,' a compact EV slightly larger than a kei-car, Honda aims to differentiate itself from competitors. The 'Super-ONE' is also slated for future release in overseas markets, including Europe and Asia, showcasing Honda's strategy to bolster its global competitiveness.
