SpaceX has detailed its highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO) plans, announcing a significant allocation of shares for retail investors. At a meeting with its team of bankers, Chief Financial Officer Brett Johnson stated that retail participation will be a critical part of the IPO, representing a larger share than any previous IPO in history. This approach is intentional, aiming to acknowledge the individuals who have been incredibly supportive of the company and its founder, Elon Musk.
Targeting $75 Billion and Investor Roadshow Schedule
The rocket maker is seeking to raise $75 billion through the IPO, a move that could value the company at up to $1.75 trillion, making it potentially the largest IPO ever. The firm is set to begin its investor roadshow the week of June 8th, with executives and bankers presenting the deal. On June 11th, SpaceX expects to host approximately 1,500 retail investors at a major investor event. Retail investors in the US, UK, EU, Australia, Canada, Japan, and Korea will get the opportunity to participate, according to sources. The IPO prospectus is expected to be made public in late May.
Leading Banks in the Offering
Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan, and Goldman Sachs are leading the deal, alongside sixteen other banks. The final structure of the deal, including the size of the retail allocation, is expected to be determined closer to the IPO launch.
