Ongoing Search for Missing Student

Since April 1, when Yuki Anda, a sixth-grade elementary school student, went missing on his way home from school in Nantan City, Kyoto, Japan, police and fire authorities have been conducting search operations. On April 3, approximately 40 personnel were deployed to thoroughly search surrounding ponds and waterways, but no new clues were discovered. It is understood that Anda was not carrying a mobile phone on the day of his disappearance, and his image was not captured on nearby surveillance cameras, making the search challenging.

School and Surrounding Area Search and Testimonies

The search team used an underwater drone to search a nearby pond where Anda's bag was found, and also thoroughly searched the vicinity of the elementary school Anda attended on the morning of his disappearance. Students who arrived at school at the same time testified that they had not seen Anda, and there were also testimonies suggesting they would have met him if he had walked there. With the revelation that Anda had a piano recital scheduled two days after his disappearance, concerns for his safety are growing.
