According to JTB, during this year's Golden Week (April 25th - May 7th), the number of people taking domestic trips of one night or more is expected to increase by 1.7% compared to last year, reaching 23.9 million. Overseas travelers are also projected to increase by 8.5%, reaching 570,000 people. While East Asian destinations like South Korea and Taiwan account for over 60% of overseas travel, trips to Southeast Asia, the United States, and Europe are also significantly growing.

'Rush Travel' Surges Amid Rising Oil Prices and Yen Concerns

This year, due to the Iran situation, fuel prices have surged, and international flight fuel surcharges are expected to rise further. This has led to a phenomenon called 'rush travel,' where people are trying to travel abroad now before prices increase.
