Changying-8 Marks a New Era with Maiden Flight
According to China Central Television, the world's largest unmanned cargo drone, the Changying-8, successfully completed its maiden flight in Zhengzhou, Henan, China, on March 31, 2026. The flight encompassed several phases, including ground taxi, take-off and lift-off, climb, cruise, descent and landing, and taxiing, lasting approximately 30 minutes at an altitude of 500 meters (1,640ft). This drone is capable of carrying its own weight of 3.5 tonnes in cargo, offering new possibilities in logistics and transportation.
