Indian Ambassador to Spain, Jayant Khobragade, Promotes Culture Through Art Diplomacy
Art as a Tool for Strengthening Cultural Connections
Jayant N. Khobragade, India's Ambassador to Spain and Andorra, is utilizing art as a tool for diplomacy through his solo exhibition, 'Journey with the Divine Flow', currently on display in New Delhi. Ambassador Khobragade emphasized that art helps build civilizational bridges and people-to-people connections. He noted that during his previous postings in Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan, his artwork played a positive role in communicating and fostering bonds with local dignitaries and the wider public.
Exhibition Inspired by India's Ancient Heritage
The exhibition features artworks drawing inspiration from India’s ancient heritage, including the Ajanta Caves and Angkor Wat, to express the depth and diversity of Indian culture. Ambassador Khobragade believes that art quietly advances India's soft power. He stated, “Wherever we see beauty, whether it is nature, a musical performance, a theatrical performance, anything that touches our heart, I feel there is an element of divinity.” He aimed to explore this divine beauty through his paintings.
