Iran's Ambassador Dismisses Trump's Claims of Negotiations with Washington
Iranian Ambassador Rejects Trump's Negotiation Claims
Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Russia, stated on RT's 'Sanchez Effect' that Iran currently has no need for negotiations. He described Iran as a "rational player" that is "not looking for war," but insisted that "proper conditions" must be met before any peace talks can begin. Jalali dismissed former President Donald Trump's claims that Tehran is negotiating with Washington as "completely false."
He noted that Iranian officials have repeatedly denied any such talks, sarcastically suggesting Trump is "almost sitting in front of a mirror negotiating with himself." Jalali argued that Washington is promoting negotiations to undermine Iran's internal unity and "control energy prices," while Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are simultaneously "planning how to strike Iran." Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt maintained that talks between the United States and Iran "are continuing and going well."
Conditions for Talks and Accusations Against Israel
Jalali outlined Tehran's minimum conditions for starting negotiations, including "sustainable peace," clear identification and punishment of the aggressor, and compensation for wartime damage. He specified that some losses, such as the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, "cannot be compensated." The ambassador also accused Israel of breaking its word to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding its intentions not to attack Iran, and claimed Washington struck Iran twice during previous negotiation rounds.
