Iran Launches Missile Attack on Israel's Beersheba, Threatens US Ground Troops
Iran Attacks Beersheba, Israel, Causing Casualties
Iran carried out a missile attack on the industrial zone south of Beersheba, Israel, on March 29. The attack set a pesticide tank on fire, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Reports indicate 11 people sustained minor injuries from flying debris, while over 20 others were treated for anxiety due to the explosions. The missile strikes also caused blackouts in some areas, according to Iran's state news agency, Fars, which cited an IRGC-affiliated source stating the area went into a total blackout after being hit.
Iran Warns US Against Ground Invasion, Threatening Retaliation
The attack followed Iran's warning to the United States against sending ground troops to the Middle East, threatening to "set them on fire." Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that while the US publicly sends messages of negotiation, it is secretly planning a ground attack. Ghalibaf was quoted saying, "Our men are waiting for the arrival of the American soldiers on the ground to set them on fire and punish their regional allies once and for all." The Pentagon is reportedly preparing to send at least 1,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division, a unit trained for parachute insertions into hostile territory, to the Middle East in the coming days.
