Seedance 2.0 Bolstered Ahead of Global Roll-out
ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has announced that it has strengthened its controversial video-generation model Seedance 2.0 with “advanced” watermarking and intellectual property (IP) protection guardrails. This move comes ahead of its anticipated global release, amidst intense scrutiny from Hollywood studios.
Responding to Hollywood IP Theft Concerns
The decision to bolster Seedance 2.0 follows widespread allegations of IP theft. In February, numerous videos generated by Seedance featuring famous Hollywood actors and characters went viral, drawing criticism from the entertainment industry. ByteDance's global safety team stated that these new safeguards are intended to address those concerns and ensure a secure and compliant international deployment.
