Iran Reviews US 'End-of-War' Proposal but Has No Intention to Negotiate, Presents Own Conditions
Iran Reviews US Proposal, Denies Negotiation Intent
Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi stated on March 25 that Iran is considering a 15-point plan for ending hostilities proposed by the Donald Trump US administration. However, he emphasized that Iran has no intention of negotiating directly with the United States. He explained via state television that while the US has sent messages through various intermediaries, this does not signify ongoing negotiations.
Iran Presents Its Own Conditions for Ending the War
Iran has reportedly informed intermediaries that any ceasefire agreement with the US and Israel must include Lebanon. Israeli cabinet officials noted that Prime Minister Netanyahu's security cabinet meeting was briefed on the US proposal, which reportedly includes removing Iran's highly enriched uranium, halting uranium enrichment, scaling back its ballistic missile program, and ceasing funding for regional allies. Meanwhile, Iran maintains that President Trump cannot dictate the timing for ending the war and has put forward its own conditions, such as recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, mechanisms to prevent a resumption of hostilities, payment of reparations, and an end to attacks on pro-Iranian groups.
