Hong Kong's CLP to Raise Fuel Cost Adjustment Next Month, First Increase in Over a Year
Hong Kong's largest electricity supplier, CLP Power, announced it will raise its fuel cost adjustment next month, the first increase in over a year, citing changes in actual fuel prices.
CLP Fuel Cost Adjustment Set to Rise
CLP Power, Hong Kong's largest electricity supplier, has announced an increase in its fuel cost adjustment (FCA) starting next month. This marks the first such increase in over a year, primarily attributed to fluctuations in actual fuel prices. The adjustment is expected to impact households and businesses across Hong Kong.
Details of the Tariff Hike
Effective April 1, the FCA will rise from 39.2 HK cents to 39.8 HK cents per kilowatt-hour, an increase of 0.6 HK cents, according to the power supplier's website. This change will apply to customers served by CLP in Kowloon, the New Territories, and Lantau Island. The net electricity charge for April will reflect this increased fuel cost adjustment, inclusive of the basic tariff.
