Japan National Team Kicks Off Training Camp in Scotland
The Japan National Football Team commenced its training camp in Dumbarton, Glasgow, UK, on March 24, in preparation for an international friendly match against Scotland scheduled for March 29 (early morning JST). Twenty-six players, including Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton), engaged in light training sessions. Players were seen disembarking from a bus and heading to the training ground, ready for their practice.
Key Players Absent Due to Injury
Notably, Takehiro Tomiyasu (Ajax), who was selected for the national team after approximately one year and nine months, was unable to join the camp due to injury. Additionally, Sato (FC Tokyo) was also resting at the team's accommodation due to poor physical condition and did not participate in training. Local children offered a handmade support flag to the players, cheering on the Japan national team. The players enjoyed taking commemorative photos with the children.
Training Progress and Future Schedule
The team conducted light warm-up exercises and running drills to maintain their physical condition. The coaching staff observed the players' training and provided focused guidance. The Japan national team aims to strengthen teamwork and enhance their match fitness through the friendly match against Scotland.
