Khan Academy Philippines is the first international licensee of the global nonprofit organization Khan Academy. This organization aims to provide free, world-class education through digital learning tools. Founder and CEO Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine expressed her belief that Filipinos can overcome the challenges in the Philippine education sector.
Nationwide Expansion and Private Sector Collaboration
Khan Academy Philippines began its pilot program in 2023 with 34 schools in Metro Manila and Dumaguete City. Since then, it has rapidly expanded, reaching over 2,700 schools across the country. Sunshine and Chief Operations Officer Myrish Cadapan-Antonio discussed the group's work, their insights into education, and how the private sector can help boost the quality of learning in the country.
