Husband Indicted on Murder Charges After 5 Years
Jun Takahari, the husband involved in the 2020 fall death case from an apartment in Kunitachi City, Tokyo, has been indicted on March 17 for the murder of his wife, Masaka. Takahari was initially arrested in 2021 but was released at the time with deferred prosecution. Since then, the Metropolitan Police Department continued its investigation for approximately 5 years, consulting multiple experts and conducting re-enactment experiments.
Victim's Mother Expresses Relief
Masaka's mother spoke on camera about her feelings over the past years. She stated that she has lived with the same feelings of sadness and anger for the last five years, but now it feels as though the groundwork has been laid for the case to move in the right direction. Regarding the progression of the case, she said, "It's a relief, I suppose, a sigh of relief," feeling as though they have reached the starting point of the investigation.
