Chinese Think Tank: Iran's Missile and Drone Stockpile to Last 2-3 Months
Analysis of Iran's Missile and Drone Stockpiles
According to analysis from a Chinese think tank, Iran's missile and drone stockpiles are sufficient to sustain operations for 2 to 3 months. The South China Morning Post, citing analysts, reported that Iran has conserved its ballistic missiles by focusing on low-cost drone attacks, even amidst intensive initial strikes from the United States and Israel. Notably, Iran has reportedly mastered the production technology for Shahed-136 suicide drones, enabling mass production, and has been manufacturing and storing these low-cost drones in underground facilities across the country.
Drone Power Advantage and Ballistic Missile Reduction
Hu Bo, director of the Beijing-based think tank South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative, analyzed that Iran's current ballistic missile holdings have decreased to approximately 1,000 units, about 30% of its pre-war levels. However, Hu Bo added, "Nonetheless, Iran holds a significant advantage in the drone sector," stating that "the production and deployment of suicide drones are easy, and their inventory should be sufficient." This indicates Iran's focus on maintaining its military capabilities through drones, despite the possibility of a prolonged conflict.
