North Korea Unveils New Tank and Claims '100% Hit Rate'
According to North Korea's Central News Agency, on Friday, Kim Jong-un, the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, attended a joint offensive tactical drill at a Pyongyang army training base. The drill showcased a new main battle tank equipped with an active protection system. The report stated that during testing, the tank intercepted anti-tank missiles and drones from multiple directions with a 100% hit rate.
Kim Ju-ae Accompanies Kim and Reaction to ROK-US Drills Analyzed
Photos released by state media also showed Kim's daughter, Kim Ju-ae, riding in a tank alongside him. South Korea's Unification Ministry suggested the drill appears to be a reaction to the joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States. However, the North Korean report made no direct mention of the two countries.
