Epstein's Lawyer Claims No Knowledge of Crimes in House Testimony
Epstein's Lawyer Testifies Before House Committee
Jeffrey Epstein's longtime attorney, Darren Indyke, recently gave closed-door testimony to the House Oversight Committee. Indyke served as Epstein's lawyer since the mid-1990s, managing his personal, financial, and legal affairs. He handled Epstein's legal matters for 20 years, withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash for him, and allegedly arranged at least three sham marriages to keep Epstein's victims in the United States. However, Indyke denies all these allegations, stating in his opening statement that he "had no knowledge whatsoever of Jeffrey Epstein's wrongdoings."
Democrats Demand DOJ Reform Epstein File Review Process
Democrats in both the Oversight and Judiciary Committees are demanding that the Department of Justice (DOJ) make changes to the Epstein file review process. They criticize the DOJ for allegedly withholding some documents to protect President Donald Trump. Democrats are asking for full access to all withheld files, ensuring that available files are fully unredacted. They also seek a reasonable number of computers accessible on Capitol Hill for staff to review files, and notably, want the DOJ to stop monitoring or tracking lawmakers' searches of the Epstein files. However, it does not appear the DOJ is under any obligation to fulfill these requests.
