Hong Kong to pilot international version of university entrance exam
Hong Kong to Establish International DSE Version
Hong Kong's education authorities are planning to establish an 'internationally benchmarked' version of the city’s university entrance exam, the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE), on a pilot basis. This initiative aims to enable foreign students to apply for admission to higher education institutions both within Hong Kong and in mainland China. Technical explorations and studies with relevant bodies regarding the development of this international DSE exam are currently underway.
Statement from Education Secretary
Secretary for Education Christine Choi Yuk-lin made remarks regarding these plans. The introduction of an international version of the DSE appears to be part of a broader strategy to enhance Hong Kong's global educational standing and attract more international talent to its higher education sector.
