Hong Kong Establishes Chinese Medicine Hospital and Testing Center to Advance TCM
Hong Kong's New Leap Forward for Traditional Chinese Medicine
Dr. Tang Bo Dong stated that the Hong Kong Government's announcement of establishing the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital a few years ago was a significant event for the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He noted that this marks a new, high-quality phase in which TCM in Hong Kong is transitioning from a supplementary role to mainstream medicine. He emphasized that the TCM Development Blueprint released by the Hong Kong government last year, combined with the opening of the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital, will further accelerate this transformation.
Advancing Quality Control and Internationalization of Chinese Medicine
In conjunction with the operation and development of the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital, Hong Kong has established the Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute. This center rigorously and earnestly controls the standardization, regularization, and overall quality of Chinese medicines. Dr. Tang Bo Dong highlighted that this initiative will greatly assist TCM and Chinese medicines in being better promoted internationally through Hong Kong, thereby gaining global recognition and furthering their internationalization.
