Middle East War Shows Signs of Prolonged Conflict: Iran-Israel Clash Intensifies, Boosting Internal Solidarity
Ongoing Explosions and Flames Across the Middle East
The entire Middle East continues to be engulfed in explosions and flames, with no signs of the war abating. In Tehran, the capital of Iran, flames consume the night sky, and the sounds of explosions and screams have become a familiar backdrop. The Israeli army has targeted over 200 sites within Iran in the past day, announcing at least three more weeks of airstrikes with the goal of completely annihilating Iran's military industry.
Iran's Counterattacks and Spreading Civilian Casualties
Iran's counterattacks are also intensifying. Suicide drones supported by Iranian militias have crippled Dubai Airport, and missiles have rained down on the heart of Tel Aviv. With war becoming a daily reality for both nations, civilian casualties are escalating to an immeasurable extent. Over 1,444 people have died in Iran alone, and more than 850 have perished in Lebanon, where large-scale ground combat is underway. Israeli casualties are also mounting rapidly.
Strengthening Internal Solidarity Amidst Prolonged War
As the tragedy deepens, the psychological solidarity of both sides is growing stronger. Mohammad Taheri, a citizen of Tehran, Iran, stated that thanks to a heroic and epic sentiment, they can endure the current situation, and the feeling of resistance has formed and strengthened. Israel, too, defines this war as a clash between good and evil and is preparing for a prolonged conflict. Citizens, accustomed to the fear, are becoming warriors themselves, with over 80% supporting the war. Semaya Rotenberg, an Israeli citizen from Jerusalem, expressed that while sirens are annoying, they are willing to pay the price for a safer and better Middle East. As the narratives of martyrdom and annihilation clash without an exit, both Iran and Israel are heading towards the worst-case scenario of a protracted war.
