Drug Storage Facility Raided in Sha Tin, Narcotics Seized
The Hong Kong Police Narcotics Bureau conducted a large-scale operation targeting a drug trafficking syndicate in the Sha Tin district in the early hours of March 14, 2026. During the operation, authorities confirmed that a residential unit in Sha Tin was being used as a drug storage facility. A local man was arrested at the scene, and police found three packets of Sigareen on his person. A subsequent search of the unit uncovered an additional 24 packets of Sigareen, each weighing approximately 1 kilogram. The total street value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be around HK$20 million.
Arrested Man Charged, Police Issue Strong Warning
The arrested 28-year-old unemployed man is currently under police investigation and will be provisionally charged with drug trafficking offenses, appearing in Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (March 15). The police stated that this operation successfully prevented a significant quantity of drugs from entering the market. The police emphasized that drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to Hong Kong Law Cap. 134, Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, convicted offenders face a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment. The public is urged to be vigilant, as drug-related crimes can devastate individuals' lives and futures.
