Singaporean Teen Siblings Find Success with First Ramadan Bazaar Stall
Teenage Siblings' Entrepreneurial Debut
At the Bazaar Raya Utara 2026 near Admiralty, Singapore, 17-year-old Muhammad Ian Faris and 18-year-old Nur Alisha are making waves as first-time stall owners. Their venture, Smashed Jr. by Dlailaz, a Ramadan bazaar stall, has proven successful, with Faris stating they 'covered the rent in just the first 10 days.' Operating during their school break, the siblings aim to provide 'simple, tasty, and affordable food' for everyone.
Diverse Offerings and Family Support
Smashed Jr. primarily sells smashed burgers in flavours like Classic, Samyang Kimchi, and Peanut Butter, alongside roti john and pani puri. Uniquely, they also offer serawa durian, a dish designed to appeal to the 'older generation'. Faris personally covered the S$15,000 start-up costs for the business. Their parents, who previously ran a 'catering service', provided crucial guidance on 'finding suppliers, sourcing items, logistics, stall setup, and marketing'.
Operational Challenges and Future Aspirations
The siblings faced operational hurdles, including short-staffed periods and managing excessive staff wages. On weekends, customer wait times could extend to '30 to 45 minutes,' a situation they found 'really, really bad.' While they will return to school, Faris emphasized that this 'cannot just be a one-time thing,' expressing hopes of participating in 'future events' to continue satisfying their customers' demand for Smashed Jr.'s offerings.
