Shenzhen Warns of 'Fully Saturated' Ride-Hailing Market, Urges Caution for Drivers
Shenzhen Declares Ride-Hailing Market 'Fully Saturated'
The Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau recently issued a risk alert, stating that the local ride-hailing service market has become fully saturated. The bureau urged potential drivers to make rational and cautious decisions before entering the industry. As of the end of April, Shenzhen hosts 26 ride-hailing platforms, with at least 140,000 qualified operating vehicles and a minimum of 390,000 licensed drivers. These figures clearly indicate an overheated competitive environment in the market.
Market Status Reflected in Operational Data
According to the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau's announcement, during April, each ride-hailing service vehicle in the city completed an average of only 13 trips per day. This statistic suggests that the overall market has reached a saturation point. While official statements only mention 'market saturation,' some online analyses indicate that the current market situation goes beyond simple saturation, exhibiting signs of intense and potentially excessive competition.
