Orange County Fire Authority Declares Chemical Tank Explosion Threat Eliminated
Chemical Tank Pressure Released and Temperature Stabilized
The Orange County Fire Authority has announced that the threat of an overheating chemical tank exploding in California has been eliminated. Craig Covey, an Orange County Fire Authority division chief, stated that crew members entered the exclusion zone to validate the situation. A crack in the tank released its pressure, and the temperature has stabilized, dropping from 100 degrees to 93 degrees. This is seen as positive news for resolving the incident.
Evacuation Zones Remain in Place, Public Cooperation Requested
Interim fire chief TJ McGovern emphasized that evacuation zones are still in play and urged residents to continue abiding by them.
