Former Israeli Military Intelligence Chief Discusses Iran War Restart Possibility and Negotiation Prospects
Current Negotiation Status Between Iran and the US
Amos Yadlin, former head of Israeli military intelligence, analyzed that the restart of war with Iran depends entirely on Iran. He explained that the Americans gave Iran a proposal through Pakistan and China, and currently, Pakistanis are going to Tehran to come back with an answer. Yadlin added that this negotiation aims for a framework of MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on principles for 30 days of further negotiations.
War Restart Possibility and 'Red Lines'
Yadlin predicted that if the Iranians compromise on the nuclear issue and Hormuz, the war will not resume. He stressed that neither Donald Trump, the US President, nor the Iranians want to resume the war. However, he warned that if Iran continues its tough stance, Trump will face a huge dilemma. Yadlin concluded that there are 'red lines' for Israel, the US, and Iran, and the question is whether they can find a deal that will avoid the next war and prepare conditions to change this 'terrorist regime' in Iran.
