Google Unveils Gemini 3.5 with Agent-like Capabilities
Google officially announced its latest artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini 3.5, at its annual developer event, 'I/O 2026', on May 20. The biggest advancement in this version is the integration of 'agent-like' capabilities, enabling the AI to not only provide information but also autonomously perform specific actions to solve real-world problems. This signifies that the AI can go beyond answering questions to plan, write code, and execute complex workflows on behalf of humans.
Flash Version Achieves 4x Faster Processing Speed
Along with the Gemini 3.5 model, Google also unveiled the Flash version 3.5. This version is designed to optimize the balance between high accuracy and excellent processing speed. According to Google DeepMind's test results, Gemini 3.5 Flash is four times faster than current mainstream models. This allows the AI to handle long-term tasks such as financial audits or maintaining large code repositories, which previously took humans several weeks to complete. Gemini 3.5 Flash can independently plan, build, and iterate on problem-solving procedures, and when combined with the Antigravity operating framework, it can deploy 'sub-agents' to handle multi-step workflows.
