Car Plows into Crowd, Causing Injuries
On May 16, a car drove into a crowd in Modena, Italy, injuring at least eight people. Four individuals sustained serious injuries, and two were airlifted to the hospital. CCTV footage captured the moment the vehicle crashed into a shop front. This incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
Driver Attempts to Flee, Apprehended by Public
After smashing into the shop front, the 30-year-old driver exited the vehicle, brandished a knife, and attempted to flee on foot. He wounded a bystander during his escape attempt before members of the public tackled him to the ground. An Interior Ministry source confirmed that the suspect has a history of psychiatric disorders. However, authorities have not yet determined if terrorism was a motive for the incident and are continuing their investigation.
