Sharp Launches Generative AI TVs with Interactive Features
Sharp announced on May 14 that it will sequentially launch new TVs equipped with generative AI starting May 23. The new products feature near life-sized humanoid characters displayed on the TV screen, which can converse with users and suggest programs based on their mood and preferences. For instance, if a user expresses a desire to 'laugh' or 'relax,' the AI will recommend suitable programs accordingly.
'AQUOS AI' Service and Pricing Details
The 'AQUOS AI' service, set to launch on May 23, is Sharp's proprietary AI service for TVs, developed using OpenAI's ChatGPT as its foundation. This service learns user preferences through conversations, with two types of humanoid characters, 'Daiki' and 'Ayumi,' serving as conversational partners. A total of 15 models of generative AI-equipped TVs are planned for release, with estimated prices ranging from approximately 275,000 yen to 935,000 yen. The AI service includes program recommendations, operational guidance, and up to 50 conversations per month for free. Users can extend conversations to up to 400 times per month with a paid plan of 495 yen.
