Clemson University Launches AI Initiative
Clemson University is set to host a live "AI at Clemson" introductory forum on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. via Zoom webinar. This event is the first in a series of information sessions, where leaders of the University’s human-centered AI Initiative will discuss how Clemson plans to approach and apply artificial intelligence in the coming months. The initiative focuses on enhancing human creativity, driving research innovation, and expanding opportunities across the Clemson community through the responsible use of AI.
Discussing University-Wide AI Applications
The online forum, co-hosted by Mitch Shue, provost fellow for artificial intelligence, and Nathan McNeese, associate vice president for technology and innovation, will outline the University’s approach to AI across learning, teaching, research, workforce development, and public engagement. The session will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A segment. Students, faculty, and staff can submit questions online prior to the forum. This cross-disciplinary effort emphasizes responsible AI use, with future sessions to be announced covering AI tools, practical applications, security, and university guidelines.
