China's 'AI+E-commerce' Push and AI's Employment Impact in Korea
In China, the Ministry of Commerce and five other departments released 'Guiding Opinions on Better Serving the Real Economy and Promoting High-Quality Development of E-commerce', officially promoting the development of 'AI+e-commerce'. This is interpreted as an intention to strengthen the research, development, and application of technologies like AI large models in the e-commerce sector. In contrast, in South Korea, despite the limited level of AI adoption by domestic companies, an analysis indicates a negative impact on youth employment, particularly in job categories with high AI exposure. Dr. Noh Seri of the Korea Labor Institute pointed out at the 'APEC Future of Work Forum' on the 6th that most Korean companies reported AI replacing a maximum of 10% of their tasks, yet it negatively affects young people.
