Taipei to Host 2029 ITS World Congress, Accelerating AI Transportation Transformation
The 2029 Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress will be held in Taipei. The Taipei City Department of Transportation announced on March 30th the establishment of a dedicated office to prepare for the congress, focusing on enhancing smart transportation systems through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The theme for the congress, 'Harmonizing an AITS World,' will concentrate on the deep integration of AI with transportation systems. Taipei plans to prioritize public transportation development over the next three years, incorporating 'human-centric,' 'safety,' 'efficiency,' and 'green' goals to advance smart transportation and showcase its AI transportation governance experience to the international community.
'AI Brain Fry' Warning Amid Excessive AI Engagement
Meanwhile, the Boston Consulting Group has warned about 'AI brain fry,' a phenomenon stemming from the excessive use or supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This condition refers to a state of mental exhaustion that occurs when the overuse of AI tools exceeds cognitive limits. This fatigue is particularly prevalent among software developers; Canadian programmer Adam Mackintosh noted the risks of security vulnerabilities and difficulty understanding AI-generated code. Company leaders are advised to set clear limits on employees' AI usage and supervision.
