Korail Retail Launches 'AI Innovation Task Force' to Integrate AI in Railway Retail
Korail Retail Establishes AI Innovation Task Force
Korail Retail announced on the 27th the launch of its 'AI Innovation Task Force (TF)' to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into railway station commercial facilities. Led by CEO Park Jung-hyun, the task force comprises 17 employees from nine departments and will focus on on-site AI utilization and infrastructure advancement. The task force will operate around five core tasks, including establishing an AI vision and strategy, and building a data-driven decision-making system.
Expanding AI Services and Public Sector Digital Transformation
Korail Retail plans to introduce on-site AI services such as chatbots for customer inquiries and safety management, and offer new customer experiences through a 'local co-prosperity project' linked with regional commercial districts. The company will also establish AI security and ethical standards to ensure a safe service environment. This move aligns with the broader trend of digital transformation in public corporations like KEPCO, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Incheon International Airport Corporation, which are adopting AI-based systems. Korail Retail aims to transform railway station commercial facilities into 'intelligent lifestyle platforms'.
