Careers and Human Skills in the AI Era
Thompson argued that early evidence has not yet proven the claim that AI would cause massive unemployment. Instead, he suggested that fields undergoing significant change due to AI might offer the greatest opportunities for recent graduates. Despite this, he cautioned against using AI to replace critical human skills, particularly logical thinking and problem-solving, warning that offloading such tasks to AI could weaken essential human 'muscles.'
