G7 Foreign Ministers Meet in France to Discuss Iran, Ukraine Wars
G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting Convened
The Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers' meeting is scheduled to take place over two days, from March 26 to 27, in France. Representatives from the European Union (EU) will also attend to advocate for support to Ukraine. Notably, U.S. allies intend to request an explanation from Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding operations in Iran.
Discussion on Iran Operations and International Instability
During the meeting, U.S. allies are expected to seek clarification on the military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran, as well as the existence of meaningful diplomatic channels to end the conflict. The issue of the Strait of Hormuz will also be a key focus. A senior French military official expressed concern over U.S. unpredictability affecting allies' interests and security, while a director at a French international relations institute noted that the U.S. stance destabilizes the international system. Foreign ministers from Brazil, India, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, along with Ukraine's foreign minister, will also participate in the discussions.
