Gwangju's Advanced 3rd District Prepares for AI Capital Status
Gwangju Metropolitan City's Advanced 3rd District is accelerating its leap towards becoming the Artificial Intelligence (AI) capital of South Korea. Especially with the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City in July, the Advanced 3rd District, spanning parts of Gwangju's Buk District, Gwangsan District, and Jeollanam-do's Jangseong County, is emerging as a key beneficiary, expected to see concentrated effects from industrial, administrative, and infrastructure linkages.
Driving the Creation of an AI Complex City
According to the real estate industry, Gwangju Metropolitan City is developing the Advanced 3rd District as a complex city that integrates AI industry, research, and residential functions. The Advanced 3rd District, covering approximately 3.62 million square meters, will house AI-related industrial bases, research facilities, and residential complexes.
