Korea Environment Corporation Accelerates Global Expansion via AI Transformation
Korea Environment Corporation Aims for Global Expansion Through AI Transformation
Korea Environment Corporation (KEC) has declared this year as a turning point to become the nation's premier climate and environment agency, accelerating its AI transformation (AX) and global outreach. Chairman Lim Sang-jun emphasized that AX is not about competing with AI but about maximizing human creativity and judgment using AI as a tool. KEC plans to actively integrate AI technology into environmental fields, aligning with global trends.
Public-Private Collaboration for 'AI Carbon Emission Management System'
Recently, KEC has been developing an 'AI Carbon Emission Management System' through public-private collaboration. On March 11, KEC signed a memorandum of understanding with Ohoohshilab Co., Ltd., Korea Management Register Inc., and Ecosian Co., Ltd. for the development of a carbon emission management system. This agreement aims to secure reliable ESG data in line with the government's 'Public Institution ESG Management Guidelines' and establish a best practice to support the green transition (K-GX) of private companies.
Advanced Carbon Emission Calculation and Management System
Through this agreement, KEC and the partner companies will jointly develop a system for calculating and managing Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions. They will collaborate to automate emission calculations and enhance accuracy using AI technology, while also promoting public and private service linkages through data sharing. Additionally, active cooperation is planned for ISO standard compliance verification and technical support.
