Fuel Shortage Worsens in Buriram, Thai Farmers Wait Overnight at Gas Stations
Severe Fuel Shortage in Thailand's Buriram Province
The fuel shortage has been worsening in Thailand, particularly in Buriram province, causing significant hardship for many residents, especially farmers. Farmers are reportedly waiting all night at service stations to secure the fuel they need. According to local reports, most gas stations have posted notices indicating no available fuel, with the issue being particularly acute in rural areas.
Impact on Agricultural Production
The lack of fuel is directly affecting agricultural production. One farmer stated that he typically needs 10-15 gallons for his tractor, costing around 7,000-8,000 baht. He mentioned that obtaining fuel has been extremely difficult over the past two to three days and that he was advised by a gas station employee when to come. Without timely fuel supply, agricultural machinery cannot operate, leading to delays in farm work and potentially reduced income for farmers.
