The Korea Human Resources Institute for Health & Welfare announced a public competition for organizations to operate its '2026 Medical Artificial Intelligence (AI) Job Training' program, with applications closing on April 10. This initiative aims to expand the utilization of AI in healthcare and address the shortage of skilled personnel. The program specifically seeks collaboration with specialized medical AI companies in the health and welfare sectors to enhance practical job competencies.
Education Goals and Eligibility
Selected organizations will be responsible for providing training to a total of 1,200 participants across Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeolla provinces until November 30, 2026. The curriculum will cover five main subjects: 'platform, infrastructure, utilization, security, and foundation,' with a requirement to offer at least three specialized courses. Eligible applicants are educational institutions capable of nurturing AI talent in the health and welfare sector, with additional points awarded for those operating training facilities outside the Seoul metropolitan area. An official from the Korea Human Resources Institute for Health & Welfare stated, "We aim to contribute to resolving the workforce shortage by fostering AI talent that can be effectively utilized in the medical field."
